Sample Paragraph for Essay

Hi students,

Below is an excerpt of a classmate's drafts. I found it to be exceptionally well-written, so I wanted to share it with those of you who are unsure of what it is I'm looking for with this essay. Please be advised that this is not an invitation to copy/paste these paragraphs into your own paper. Doing so will not be tolerated! This is being offered as a model to work off of. If you have any questions, please email me.

THIS PAPER IS DUE FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING! No exceptions!

"In the time of the Progressive Era, women wanted the right to vote and be treated equal to men. The relationship between men and women is a power relationship. In the Gilded Age, this power relationship was very unequal because men had more power than women. This power relationship is what women were trying to fix. They wanted to be treated equally. They argued that women would be a better choice for voting. Some of their arguments were very effective.

Women created national organizations, organized protests and marches, they signed petitions, and published writings to make sure they were heard. In the mid 1800s women started a movement to get the right to vote. This movement was called suffrage. The women who partook in suffrage was called suffragettes.

Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were two famous suffragettes. They, along with every other suffragette, expanded democracy. In 1920 the 19th Amendment was passed. The 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote. After the 19th Amendment was passed, the relationship between men and women became equal, more or less."
